Salvage Title Z06 To Race @Pikes Peak

At just nine miles on it, this Z06/7 was destroyed by a dealership Tech while "testing its capabilities," sliding it into a ditch, now looks as if the Z is getting a second life.

Normally, salvage titles are a big no-no when seeking out a new set of wheels. However, when the future plans involve turning the car into a full-blown racer, the title status isn’t nearly as important.

Robb Holland of Jalopnik embodies this thought and purchased a C7 Corvette Z06 with only nine miles on the odometer… with a salvage title. And he’s going to take it racing up Pikes Peak in just 90 days.

Nine miles and a salvage title? How is that so? It seems a lot tech decided to see what the C7 Z06 was capable of when it arrived at a dealership in the state of Washington. Following that, the tech sent it into a ditch and the airbags deployed. Selling a nearly-brand-new Corvette with the airbags blown isn’t much of a value proposition, so insurance totaled the car out and sent it to auction. Now, Holland owns it.

And he’s going to transform it into a badass race car fit for Pikes Peak duty. Who knew a salvage title could be such a saving grace?
