Since I bought a 7 yr/100K Platinum GMEPP I am not concerned with miles. I will be selling or trading long before my warranty expires. I have had 2 major issues, both covered under warranty. I would not want to have a similar issue without a warranty. I feel the same about the BMWs I have driven for over 30 years, I won't drive a modern one without a warranty. Modern cars are more reliable, on average, than say cars from the 70s and 80s but when they have a problem it can cost $1000s to fix it without a warranty.

I got an extended warranty for the C6 I had When the 3 years was up I got a GM warranty. To my surprise I got a whole bunch of money back
when I cancelled the policy. Never had to use it but peace of mind was great.

I know people who trailers their Stingray. I tell people that if mine is seen on a trailer--then its stolen. Charlie aka cutnout

No concern about mileage on mine. I have 6 other vehicles that get my driving attention so my C7 doesn't rack up a lot of miles anyway, plus my '15 has the 100k warranty. Actually I'm more concerned about where I park my C7, or sometimes leaving it unattended.

    Cool

I have owned 5 Corvettes, my present one being a 2016 Stingray with only 700 miles on the clock. I have used every one as a daily driver except in snow or ice. I have also done numerous long distant drives on vacation, including Yellowstone, Jackson Hole, Million Dollar Highway in Colorado, Grand Canyon--North Rim and South Rim, Disneyland, San Diego, Zion NP, Arches NP, Bryce Canyon NP, Death Valley (in August and got caught in a rainstorm!), Kings Canyon, Yosemite, Sequoia, etc. I have never had a mechanical breakdown with any of my Corvettes, not even a flat tire. They have been amazingly reliable and always enjoyable to drive.

So, am I concerned about reliability with my new C7--Absolutely not. I will drive it just like I did the previous ones.

Mike, that is amazing, 5 Corvettes, tons of wheel time and not one incident. "Outstanding"!!

I got mine to drive, but it is not my DD for several reasons--but mileage is not one of them. I do love to drive it and, at times, drive it in a spirited manner when conditions are appropriate.

This 16 Z06 is my toy. I polish it, look at it, polish it some more. I feel it is a very special car to drive for me. I love the Horse power on tap! That being said, over the past 30 years we put about 5500 mile on our toys each year. Sold an 86 vette aluminum head with 42,000 miles on it. Sold it in 2008. Yes it was red as well. I truly love to drive the Z, and to work in it. It is really good therapy for me personally. If you don't want to see a Corvette shrink, so is this place. A lot of good people here.

My only prior Corvette was a C2 that I bought in 1966 at age 19. I drove that car over 200,000 miles in about 12 years before I finally sold it (big mistake). It was driven 12 months of the year. This Corvette is only on the road from April to November, and I am averaging about 8000 miles a year. If this car ever makes 200,000 miles......

.well, I think I am likely to expire before it does. It goes out on the road every Spring/Summer/Fall day suitable for top down driving, for a ride of 50 miles minimum. And a suitable day here is any day it is above 45F, and not raining.
Order placed Sept 16 2014, Roadster, 2LT, Z51 mag ride, 8AT, PDR/NAV. Night Race Blue, Jet Black interior, Red Calipers, Carbon Flash Badges.
wrapped in Xpel Ultimate, came home Oct 31. Using Range AFM Suppression

Aloha, I drive mine too any time I want (even with the non functioning gas gauge) I waited 60 yrs to own one so I am going to enjoy it! (but still wont drive it if I plan on driving to a bad part of town in fear of vandalism) Fun, fun!!!

I drive my C7 where I want, not limiting my mileage because of "fear failure."

I never once worried that any of my Vettes would let me down. With my first Vette, a 69 427, I waited 9 months for that sucker and nothing was going to stop me from driving it. The day I got the call that it was prepped and ready for pick-up it was snowing. Four to six inches was expected. The dealer would garage it for me until the roads were clear. In spite of the offer I picked it up that day and drove home in the snow. From that moment on I put on the miles and smiles.

I strongly believe if you worry about all the negative scenarios that can befall a car you can’t enjoy it. I never consider I will break down, nor a valet will trash it, nor a delinquent will key it in a public parking lot, nor a thief will steal it, nor have its value diminish because of high mileage etc.

I look for excuses to drive the car.... anywhere and everywhere. With my friends, I will be the first to offer to drive a road trip. The only exception is I no longer smoke in any of my cars. Sooooooo, this most recent trip to Sebring my buddy who wanted to light up on his way up, drove. He took his 911 Carrera S Cabriolet. It was a two plus hour drive one way. I must admit smoking a Montecristo while riding shot gun in the Porsche with the top down was a blast.

And, Corvette winning GTLM that day was the icing on a great road trip!

Nice thread John. I think this poll and its results reflects the trend of how most of our members feel about our Stingrays!
