Sorry. I'm not going to argue with you, but amortization of costs is a very real factor in pricing. Not an old wives tale.

I must be the exception here. Taking my C7 on long trips is loads of fun. Also, the C7 has way more luggage room than my C3, so even the wife is happy.

Sorry if I got off subject. I hope the C8 is under $100k.

My C7 is my daily driver, and has been used for lots of trips. But I don't think we're the typical Corvette owners. I've met many who only take their cars out on warm, sunny weekends when there's no threat of rain, pollen, etc.

I'm sure you're right. But to quote our famous leader: "Sad". All those folks are doing is keeping their car pristine in order to benefit the next purchaser. I think we both feel the C7 should be enjoyed as often as possible. But, to each his own.

I can understand why you do not want to discuss in detail. My point was that your statement was an invalid generalization of subject matter that you are only vaguely familiar with or you would not have stated what you did. It is what I do and have done for 33 years in one of the most complex industries that exists Military Aerospace.

We should just leave it at this trust me....

Enough gents. You two agree to disagree, and we leave it at that. Whether one of you is right or the other, all of us are returning to strictly discussing what GM will entry price the ME.

    Thank you.

In addition to displaying the tally, we should periodically calculate the weighted mean to determine what range represents the average results of the poll. I'm sure one of our forum scientists can do that in two seconds. They may even be able to further calculate or provide insight to what the specific average price is from the results.

Considering the knowledge of the folks being polled on this topic, I would be surprised if the results aren't close to the actual price. It will interesting to see when the C8 is revealed. I assume Chevy won't use our poll as an input to their pricing decision.

The more votes, the more meaningful the results will be!

My guess is $84,995. With dealer add ons on first release, with plenty of room for discounting later.

I'm lower than that. Hopefully some forum scientists can help us narrow it down (Post 22).

Forum dealers will, high probablity, charge MSRP for the ME (not over) – for it will not be a limited production car. However, some who have to have the ME up right up front from dealers who have limited allocation especially if they have not been on a dealer’s ME priority list for a while, will choose to pay over sticker to get the car “soonest.” Those who are willing to wait a while under those circumstances, waited many months months during the 2014 model year (though 1,000 with still-unfilled orders getting their C7’s as earliest-priority 2015’s).

We went through another path when the C7 came out, that some who went to smaller dealers but who had a relationship with their dealer and/or had been on that dealer’s list for a while and were a top priority order with that dealer, were able to get their car at list.

And some even found dealer’s willing to discount MY 2014’s, mostly during the latter half of the year

What is going to compound this for the first year ME, will be one known factor, i.e., GM’s maximum production BGA capacity, which was 40,000 units for 2014, is now down to 33,000 units.

And several currently-unknown factors: How much a ME costs; how desirable is it; does it offer a manual? And maybe some others.

So many considerations we have yet to figure out.

The poll is interesting, although I'm dumbfounded that anyone believes it could be less than 80K base price. If it is, I'm sure it would be far less car than most of us are hoping for.

While the above, now deleted, posts were interesting, they were all subject to endless political debate. This thread is about your feelings/beliefs as to the ME entry price.

    Thank you.

This prophecy may be self fulfilling, if you want an ME, vote for what you want it to reasonably be, not for what you think it will be. As of now, we'd be charging ourselves ~85k for an ME.
