    Anyone here had Alarm problems?

My C7 has alarms randomly about 2-3 times a day. Never in the night.

Thought it was water ingress, but no evidence found

Seems to trigger every 120-150 minutes without warning. Dealer is baffled. Car is still under 3/36 warranty

Its not movement, or the motion sensor. No codes either

    Replaced hood sensor

    Baffling.

Going in to the dealer for deep dive next week, but any experience from others will help.

    Thanks

Welcome to our forum jaa6921. I have never experienced any alarm issues with RedHot. Do you have anything hanging from your mirror or similar that could at times, be moved by air currents?

Thanks RedHot - love the name

So under instruction from the GM dealer, everything is removed from the car including OBD2 module, GPS tracker on the battery, dangling heart on mirror etc

My local dealer does not sell so many Corvettes so they are scratching their heads on this one. Being still under warranty, its headed towards a Lemon situation if they don't fix it....................

Next week its going in for as long as it takes to fix it. They say they are going to replace door/handle switches, trunk latch and anything else that's identifiable as a potential way to set off the alarm. Personally after watching this for several weeks and relating it to the weather and temperature outside, I am of the opinion that there's a PCB with bad soldering in some piece of electronics and the cold and warm transition is causing the problem.

    Its driving me mad!!

    FWIW

My Alarm went off 4 times in 3 hours whilst the car was parked at my office. These events were consistent with it being 70-72deg outside, which appears to be part of the circumstance that causes this to happen

Ironically enough I spoke to GM Customer Service and they instructed me NOT to take my car into the Dealership and that they are arranging some technical expert to come here and work with the dealer on troubleshooting the issue.

Guess when you get to call "Lemon" they start to get interested.

I really hope they fix the problem......

Aside from this - and again - if anyone can provide clues as to what causes this, please post!!

Occasionally when I'm jacking up my 2014 and forget to have a key with me the motion of jacking it up sends off the alarm. I am scratching my head as well and if I think of something I will respond with a better reply. you triggered a situation I had 30 years ago working on medical lab equipment, we had a Technical service bulliten to repair a cracked solder joint that would cause the display screen to go crazy - had to travel throughout the nation for a quick 5 minute repair. I will continue to think about this but I like the idea of replacing the central unit responsible for receiving signals rather than all the door switches etc. Keep us posted, I will do the same if I get and idea.
