Who is the "big hitter"?
Could it be Rick Hendricks?
Anyone watch the Barrett-Jackson auction Friday in New England? In case you missed it, a charity auction was done by Barrett Jackson and GM for the right to own the very last C7 to come off the line in September. Proceeds to benefit a foundation that provides homes for severely disabled veterans. They showed a replica of it, a black/red Z06 coupe. It sold for $2.7 million. Perhaps there is hope for my 2016 driver?--Bob

The last C7 was sold to the same guy that bought the last Viper. Good to have money.
For those that don't know the charity was the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, a charity founded to honor the memory of Stephen Siller, a firefighter who lost his life on 9/11. The foundation focuses on helping injured military veterans and first responders through building homes and paying off mortgages. I did the tunnel to towers run twice and it's a great event. FF Stephen Siller ran through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, carrying his gear from Brooklyn to Manhattan on 9-11 to respond to the incident and perished during the collapse of the towers. Never Forget and Never Forgotten. The foundation was created originally for the families of the firefighters lost on 9-11 but quickly expanded to military veterans.
Great cause and nice to see them get $2.7 million from the sale of the last C7 Corvette.
