A SUBTLE DIFFERENCE......When I went to Norm's shindig in May, I bought a set of OEM silver painted wheels from Rick (NightRaceRick) and here they are. I had them powder coated in black chrome and mounted on Continental Extreme A/S tires. It's nice to drive down the street and not fling pebbles. Thanks again, Rick!

Just a quick note on how much I like my new Continental A/S tires. They ride better, are quieter and of course don't throw up road debris like the OEM tires. I know many forum members have made the switch to all season tires and now I can see why. Because they're not run flats, I bought a Slime tire repair kit and keep it in the rear storage compartment.
And that's powder coated??? Looks like a chrome wheel to me.
It's a several step process. After the wheels are chemically stripped, a primer and the a base powder coat are applied; followed by the chrome and finally a clear powder coat. I liked my black painted wheels but was looking for a little more "pop". I didn't want a traditional chrome finish, so the black chrome is perfect for me.
I'll bet it does. Down the road I might be doing something similar with RedHot. I will probably go with a powder coated black barrel and machined lip and struts. nthego:
