Thanks to LeftLane News, we just learned that Chevrolet will kick off production of its all-new Corvette Stingray Convertible with a limited edition model. It will be loaded, starting at $77,450.

Personally, not buying the very last sentence, i.e., I strongly believe that convertibles will be arriving in customers' hands (not these Premiere Editions , but "regular" ones), within two to three weeks.

Officially dubbed the Corvette Stingray Premiere Edition Convertible, Chevrolet will produce just 550 units of the special edition model. All 550 examples with be finished in Lime Rock Green with a Brownstone suede interior.

In addition to its unique color combination, the Corvette Stingray Premiere Edition Convertible will feature carbon fiber interior accents, a variable tuned performance exhaust system, the Z51 Performance Package and General Motors' fast-acting Magnetic Selective Ride Control.
Other touches include "Stingray"-logo center caps, "Stingray"-logo interior sill plates and a five-piece set of Corvette-branded luggage from Thule.
All Corvette Stingray Premiere Edition Convertible models will be identifiable via a unique VIN sequence and a dash plaque.
The Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Premiere Edition Convertible will carry a base price of $77,450 - including destination - when it rolls into showrooms early next year.

I didn't think Premier were being produced for the masses. Won't the Vert Premier have a small run, similar the Coupe (500)? Maybe I'm missing something but I wonder if color matters on so few. cars.

I wonder why they referred to Lime Rock/Kalahari as a "unique combo." Seems like a perfect combo to me. Now... if they don't offer that combo to masses (and that's what they mean by unique), THAT would be a marketing blunder.

It looks very British to me.
If they had to commit to a minimum # of units od Brown interior and there not being ordered, what better way to meet there commitment.
I prefer the Crystal Red that I ordered.

Sorry but for me to be unique or "Premiere" means no one else can have one or very few like a special color or upgraded engine. You can build this exact car and the only difference is the unique VIN number which I can live without.

From what I understand, the Premiere verts will be Limerock Green with the Brownstone interior. The production will be limited to 500 just like they limited the coupes.

And it is coming with the same five-piece Thule luggage set that comes with the Premiere coupes. This leads me to one conclusion and one question. My conclusion is that with the top up, all five pieces of luggage will fit in the trunk. And, my question, to which we might not know the answer for a while, how many of those five will fit in the trunk with the top down?

My dealer indicated that the Premiere Edition Verts would be this color combo, but didn't know if they would be manual or auto trannys (or both?) - if it follows the Coupe situation:
-The car can indeed be "recreated" by checking the proper boxes (pretty much every option available, excepting black wheels)
-The sticker price is at/near what it would be by selecting the same option for a non-Premiere edition
-They will be extra to a Dealer's allocation (though not certain if a dealer who got a Premiere Coupe will get one of these)

Also, GM announced production convertibles started shipping to Dealers last Friday, so some production cars should be in customers hands next week….

The interior on the car in the pic is Kalahari.

Werk-It, did not notice that until you pointed it out. Thanks. Interesting that GM's choose the LA Auto show to show off a Lime Rock Green convertible, announce the new Premiere convertibles during the show, but send a LRG convertible with a Kalahairi interior.
