Just finished the last tour of the day, and once again no Spectra Gray wheels. That makes six tours, and only one Z06 with Spectra Gray wheels -- inspite of my seeing about 80 Z06's in total. This is certainly different from what I have heard from two of the top five dealers who have lots of Spectra Gray orders, mine is Spectra Gray, as are two of my friend's. Maybe just coincidence, with tomorrow or the rest of the week running a fair amount of them?
After 6 tours, have you taken to politely correcting the guides when their info is wrong? ;)

Actually, my tour has been postponed till Thursday at 9:30 AM. More opportunities for public tours before then (laughing at myself).

How can this be the 1st Z06 completed? I was at west coast corvette in anaheim CA in sept getting some items and the sales guy told me the prior day they had some rich millionaire dude from newport beach CA there showing off his yellow Z06?

Is ALF01 correct about his original post that the spoilers wickerbills could possibly be interchangeable? I'm confused because "elegant" wrote stage 1 people would be disappointed. Reading further in the thread didn't clear anything up for me.

Elegant (aka John) clarified as follows:

Yes, the base is a standard piece on ALL Z06's, with different wicker bills.
The "disappointed comment" was in reference to those who ordered stage 1 aero hoping it would not have wicker bills at all.....but many of us (myself included) are very happy about how this played out, as we were hoping for stage 2 aero were but "constrained out" of it....we now know the spoiler will be easily upgraded.

ALF01, I might be wrong here, but I think John may have been referring to the mounting hole locations being the same and ease in being able to switch them out. Again, I might be wrong here. Just one of those posts that might leave the reader up for interpretation...

That is excellent news! (As long as we don't see people making their own 6 inch tall extensions.)

Although, I do have a question as follows:

It appears (and has been said by some, I think including John), that the Stage 1 spoiler is like the Z51 spoiler (and now has wicker mounting holes). I had thought that the Stage 2 had more of a "wrap around" look on the edges as compared to the Stage 1.

Perhaps we really don't know or am I missing something?

Dave, it seems to me that the side "wrap around" pieces, as you called them, are part of the vertical plates which bolt onto the spoiler. On other words, the vertical plates are bent on the outside edge of the car 90 degrees forward.

In time, hopefully we will see these plates not on a car and know for sure.

Also, I am wondering what it would look like if a Stage 1 had the vertical plates removed, and then just replace the bolts in the holes without a plate installed. I wonder if that would look similar enough to the Z51-style spoiler, or if the bolts inserted by themselves would look tacky.

Hey Dave, just coming from memory, which isn't all that great anymore, but it's been my understanding that the Stage-1 is shorter, more like the Z51 and the Stage-2&3 are significantly taller... Can't remember the exact amount. And I too understood the Stage-2&3 has more of a wrap around on the ends than the Stage-1. Maybe we'll get more clarification from John later. Think perhaps having to write our posts and responses make it more difficult to communicate and interpret what we're actually trying to say...

I believe this is, in essence, correct....the wrap around edge is part of the bolt on wicker bill & not the base spoiler piece....

Ah ha! I now understand. (and sorry for hijacking this thread, slightly), but:

Looking at the picture below (Thanks ZeeshanFarooq29),

You can see how the Wicker Bill does bend around to make the "wrap around" section.

That is great!, now I can go from Stage 1 to Stage 2 by just buying the Wicker Bill(Stage 2). I also get the wrap around section as a bonus.

It took me awhile to get it. The picture made it look like it was one piece for the spoiler and wrap around section.

This was in a thread by ZeeshanFarooq29, where he stated that this was a prototype of the stage 1 (spoiler only). You would have to ask him for any more details. :)
There is a video on YouTube - search for "Z06 most aerodynamic Corvette ever"...came out about a week ago, less than 2 minutes long.

The video clearly shows a stage 1 splitter and spoiler on a gray car....I have posted captures previously. The stage 1 spoiler (as I recall) does not have any wrap around, just vertical wicker bills that slightly rise above the base piece. See post #29 in this thread.....
