Congratulations for breaking the world record in a C2, 201.3 M{PH in the Texas Mile. Great video. Well done, and interesting backstory.

Land vehicle Vehicle Car Coupé Sedan

A 1965 Corvette Sting Ray hailing from Helsinki, Finland has broken 200 MPH in the standing mile at the Texas Mile 2016 Event back in early April.

The official time of 201.3 MPH by SIX5Racing’s 1965 Corvette is said to be a World Record Run for a C2 Corvette in the standing mile.

Driving the SIX-5 is Kimmo Nevalainen, who has been on an extended trip to the states over the since last fall including a stops at drag strips, tourist destinations and the National Corvette Museum. Other videos on his youtube channel show him driving across the USA in his 1965 Corvette while pulling a trailer.

Here’s that 201.3 MPH Standing Mile run by SIX5Racing’s 1965 Corvette C2:

John, that C2 is wicked fast and very clean looking outstanding. It would have been nice if they had set up a camera near the end of the run to record it at 201+.

The car has no obvious aero enhancement to counter inherent C2 lift, although there is something going on ahead of the front wheels... The drag chute is a worthwhile addition. :eek:nthego:

Good point Mobius, for way below 200 MPH, C2's had inherent front end lift tendencies.
Mine did! Got goofy(light feeling) anytime over 100 as I recall.

The inherent aero dynami front end lift can be eliminated very inexpensively with a home made front air dam.
