Hello anyone,

I got my first C7 last month. '14 2LT M7 with only 14.7k miles. Last weekend I saw the first flicker then black screen. Radio and music from phone still work. Just can't see anything. Yesterday it worked perfect even while operating the screen up/down. This morning it worked fine until I lowered and raised screen. It then blacked out without a flicker first. Based on my initial research, it could be 2 things. 1. 2014 had issues with the screen itself and many had to get replaced. 2. The blue wires attached to the bottom of screen that travel with the screen up and down could have an issue and I've seen a video of someone buying a $7 wire off Amazon and that was the fix. There definitely would be a big difference in cost. Anyone have an opinion on which is the culprit?

Thanks,

The majority of early C7s that had similar issues were ultimately resolved by (to a lower degree of success) the software fixes or by ((much higher degree of success) the replacement of the infotainment unit. If possible I would take it to a dealer and ask if they could check via the VIN to see if the unit had been replaced. That is a low milage 2014 C7 and less likely to have a short because of screen lowering.

aFTER 28 MONTHS OF FIGHTING gm OVEWR THE BLANK SCREEN ISSUE, HOPEFULLY HISTORY ON HERE, THEY FINALLY REPLACED THE SCREEN, WHICH WAS ORIGINALLY REPORTED DEFECTIVE UNDER WARRANTY, AND i AM SURE THEY KNEW IT WAS THEIR PROBLEM TO RESOLVE FOR FREE, BUT THEY STRUNG ME ALONG AND i WAS PATIENT ENOUGH ENOUGH TO OUT LAST THEM AND THEY FINALLY PAID FOR THE REPLACEMENT. tHE DEALER SERVICE MANAGER CORRECTLY IDENTIFIED IT AS A FALID SCREEN, BUT AS HE COULD NOT GET THE FAILURE CODE HE COULD NOT BE PAID FOR THE REPAIR UNTIL i FOUGHT gm UNTIL A "SERVICE REP" CAME BY AND AUTHORIZED THE FREE REPLACEMENT OF THE SCREEN/

That is the mane reason that I got the “Endurance extended warranty”! Just last year on my 2015 2 LT the AC would only blow from the lower vents! The vent control switch failed and needed replacing. They had to completely remove the dashboard $1500 in labor. $100 deductible out of pocket.
