I wish some of our car magazines would spend a little time with a non-Z51 Stingray. The actual performance difference between the two cars probably isn't as great as some think.
And then consider the new ZF1 gets the Z51 tires which they claim is one of the major contributions to the Z51's prowess that the gap narrows even more. Throw in a rear Z51 sway bar and now it gets interesting.
But in any event shaving tenths off any cars track time is expensive and usually the average owner/driver would never approach those limits or could even drive the car to those limits anyway.
The new C7 in any form exceeds 99% of drivers capability.
Kudo's to GM and I can't wait to get my new C7 later this month.
I agree with the statement, but for $2k+, for a car like this, why not get the z51? For the different tranny gear ratios and the eLSD, it is worth it. Then you have the larger rims and tires, suspension etc. I don't know.....if it was 8-10k I would agree with the thought of bypassing, but it's not.
