Thanks C7_StingRay," for finding and posting that information. Lots of "stats" questions always arise later, folks asking for such info, so I will make this thread a "sticky," always readily accessible.

Thanks again!

Regarding the color override option, is there any info about what specific color combinations not recommended were selected. My Z51 convertible received a blue soft top and Laguna blue bottom. Could it be a one of one?

You car could be 1 of 1. Unfortunately, GM's does not record the interactive ordering of options (that there were "x" cars which had both "x" and "y" options) so it is not possible to tell whether something is 1 of 1 unless only one of a particular option were ordered.

One could increase one's odds, by ordering multiples of the rarest options, e.g. both order the customer selectable $5,000 VIN option and the previous $5,800 engine build option. Or, order a VY convertible with the Adrenaline Red interior and a blue top. It might not be the prettiest but might a 1 of 1. In both previous examples, GM however still will not confirm that your car would be 1 of 1 because they do not keep such interactive ordering-option statistics.

Perhaps a survey of D30 optioned cars and what color combination was chosen would be an interesting report seeing how that this option was only available for sold orders.
Jeff, thanks for enlightening me to the obvious! What can I say?

Statistics are fun to twist. I have a brownstone sueded convertible (40 made) with museum delivery (0.033% of production) means 1.3 were delivered thru the museum.... Making mine a possible one or two. Barrett-Jackson here I come! ;)

Will be interested in finding out how many 2015 VY Z06's will be produced and sold after the model year. Might be wrong, but I have the gut feeling there's going to be a heck of allot more of them than anticipated. Maybe not..... Figure the Red is probably going to be the leader, then the blue and who knows after that...

Unfortunately, these statistics were pulled from the NCM blog and website because they are full of inconsistencies. For example, supposedly 37,288 2014 C7's were built, but the sum of the 1LT, 2LT and 3LT only adds to 36,990. Another example: the standard suspension (11,134 Coupes + 5,043 Verts) adds to 16,177 but the table has 16,183. These are just 2 examples of many issues with this data. I exchanged emails with Wendell Strode (Executive Director of the NCM) and he confirmed that the data was incorrect. The NCM contacted GM and GM admitted that data was not correct. Still waiting for corrected data.

Bottom line: this data is close, but not totally correct.
