For those of you interested in purchasing a new 2014 Corvette Z51 (or any variation) give Joe Lewecki a call at West-Herr Chevrolet in Orchard Park, NY @ 716-926-7719. I bought my Z51 - 3LT from him and the transaction was smooth with no dealer "add on" surcharges. They have Z51's in stock as well as other models.

Just a follow-up to my original post and to share the background story that led up to my actual purchase of my Z51. Like many of us, I too placed my order for my dream Corvette Z51-3LT on 2/22/14 at my local dealer who moves a lot of Corvettes. Also, like many of you i heard the standard lead time of 8-12 weeks. Each day I went to the GM dealer web site to check the status of my order each day (sometimes more than once a day). After reading some of the posts of anxious prospective owners and their stories of broken promises I expressed concern with my dealer and the response was "these forums are getting people all wound up - not to worry". Again being naive, I didn't add a clause to my sales contract limiting lead time. Low and behold after a month and a half with no updates to the status of my order I asked the sales manager to contact their factory rep for an update. The original 8-12 week lead time became it would be late August before I saw it. I informed them since they didn't complete with their verbal commitment of 8-12 weeks and I wanted my deposit back. Luckily they complied and I immediately started my internet search for available or in-transit inventory that met my original requirements (or was reasonably close to it). After an exhaustive search of dealers within a 300 mile radius on multiple web sites and after hearing "we just sold it" numerous times, I was shocked (I even asked are you sure it's available) when Joe Lewecki @ West-Herr Chevrolet said it wasn't sold yet. After leaving my deposit, I felt a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I could finally get a good nights sleep without waking up thinking about dealers and web sites I may have forgot to check. For those of you who are in my shoes, hang in there and keep plugging. Pictures to follow.
