According to Rick "Corvette" Conti the production scheduled for MY2014 C7's will extend to 08/08/2014 with MY2015 start-up on 08/11/2014.

We received some initial Corvette production data for you..its different than what we are used to. Now rather than current model year ending in June…

2014 Build Out Date (tentative) 8/8/14 with
2015 Start up scheduled for 8/11/14

Still looks like a VERY Long delay for the 8 speed auto for 2015, their focus is Z06 launch first. More as we have it.

Good find Mark! This will obviously result in about 3,000 additional 2014's, bringing the estimated total StingRay production to about 32,500 units. Clearly demand for 2014's remains strong. This will result in more time to fine tune not only the Z06, but also the 2015's. More time for PDR development and other 2015 changes. Possible other changes for 2015 include "stand alone" MSRC? Different wheels for non Z-51's? A definite announced changed for 2015 is internet capability.

Chevrolet Accelerates to 4G LTE Speeds in 2014

Other 2015 changes? We saw the announcement for the Z06 included two new interior colors, Dark Gray and Blue. Might these be only Z06 specific, or, more likely, might this mean that two 2014 interior colors will be gone (can't see GM's going to seven interior color options for even the Z06)? If so, what interiors might not be around for 2015? Might there be other 2015 changes?

A "cease production of one model year on a Friday, start up the new model year the next Monday" is very unusual, so this suggests that changes might of limited scope, such as changes in option-combinations, color-options, or option-content-packaging. Probably not indicative of something major and new and surprising for 2015.

Yes, the weekend switchover is somewhat unprecedented. At a minimum it usually takes one to two weeks.

It would be interesting to know how many running changes they have already made or are in the pipeline, We already know they have changed some of the panel molding / trim and I would bet there are quite a few things under the covers that have / will change as running changes and not wait for the model year switchover.

Yeah, I'll bet virtually nothing changes for 15. Companies can max profit with min changes and outside the howls of the forums, the dealers are not hearing any massive complaints /changes needed. I would hope we get some of the exhaust /driving mode mods back that were planned but did not get, but if we don't, I won't be surprised.

I suspect the biggest changes will be in option packages, not so much price increases but content changes to make Z51 more expensive like coupling it with NPP, which virtually every Z51 has anyway.

So I wonder how this will affect when the 2015 can start to be ordered and when the options will be known? I was hoping to be one of the first 2015's ordered and hoping for a Sept. delivery, but now that sounds like it is going to be pushed out due to this "unprecedented" move. I really like the new Shark Gray, but maybe I should just bite the bullet and go with Blade Silver/Brownstone and be done with it. Also, I'm wondering if Brownstone will still be available in 2015?

I don't think we are wrong, GM published the dates. Mid Sept would be the earliest if they get in on the first batch.

The link is in the first post in this thread. It came from a dealer sharing info he was given by GM. I imagine your dealer has access to the same information but Rick does have contacts the average dealer selling Corvette's doesn't.

Good questions Gregg, and sorry we missed them when you posted two weeks ago. Here's our best information at this time.

We are expecting the 2015 specs to be released at or around the time of the April 24-26 NCM Bash, an event to which GM brings several of the new model Corvettes, holds presentations on the changes, etc. The actual time dealers with allocations can submit the first of the new model year orders is usually in the ten days thereafter. Based on the 2015 production timetable above (post #1), it is probable that the first 2015's will be arriving at dealers, or to the NCM for Museum Delivery pickup, about mid September.

We have no information yet on the interior colors available for non-Z06's, though we know the Z06's will have "unique 'dark gray' and blue" options. Whether this means any changes for the interior of StingRays is not yet known, but, IMHO, it seems unlikely that GM will have seven total interior colors for the Corvette. The only confirmed 2015 changes for the Corvette are found in the following link (though there are unconfirmed rumors that the 2015 StingRays will offer MSRC as a stand-alone option).

Anybody wanna bet they are going to build the pre-production 2015's during the March 10 factory blackout week?

What does "final consensus" mean? What is the significance? Thanks!

I believe Consensus refers to a dealer stock report that includes allocation projections for the upcoming month. This report would be what tells the dealer which week during the upcoming month that can expect their allocation to be available for order placement. I believe this the report the big dealers use to tell people which weak they can expect to have their 1100 order assigned to allocation. It's not official until the Thursday report comes out but I suspect it's usually pretty accurate.
