Automobile Magazine just published a comparison they did between their long term test Z51 Stingray and the new 2015 BMW M4. They thought the M4 at over $18grand more than the Stingray would outshine the Stingray. That's not what they found. They state in the review "The 2015 BMW M4 is an incredible car. The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is equally incredible. And that realization, that a Kentucky-built icon can stack up to Munich's legend, is the most incredible thing of all."

The test was carried out at Michigan's Gingerman Raceway. Another nice win for our Stingrays!

The C7 Corvette is more than "equally incredible", it is was other sports cars thrive to be No.1!! I don't ever remember growing up and every kid on the block wanting a BMW, but I can recall every kid talking, Vette this, Vette that, one of these days I will own one. (yeah I was one of those youngins talking smack)!!

I've never been a fan of BMW's, I've never owned one, drove one, sat in one, I've just never looked at them and said "man, I wish I had a BMW..." Just doesn't do anything for me. Do I think their great performer? Heck yeah, I just prefer other brands.

My former realtor had a BMW and she said it was in the shop monthly. She wanted to know if I had any friends that wanted to buy it! Told her I would like to keep my friends, so I won't recommend a car that spends time in the shop once a month!

Corvettes of almost any year generates a certain level of emotion and excitement upon seeing it, but any BMW does not come close to accomplishing this. I have a 2015 on order and just the thought of this generates a certain amount of passion.

I'd have to agree that it is apples and oranges.

My daily driver is a 2008 323i 6 speed manual, and I love it. Only issue I've had with it was the battery and that was due to not driving it enough for a period and not having a battery tender on it. Besides that the car has been great.

But it does not provide the same driving experience as my C7 Z51 and I would not expect it to. That's why I have both ! :)

I tee-totally agree with you!!! I had wanted a Corvette since I knew what a car was! I can remember the exact day, time & details of when I told my dad (I was probably about 8 yrs. old), that's the car I wanted & one day I will have one. He just looked at me and shook his head yes. He knew!! However, I didn't get my first one until I was in my early 40's, and just 2-1/2 weeks ago...got my 3rd one, a 2014 Z51! I don't have to read all the articles that compare a Vette w/any foreign car...in my heart & soul, a Corvette will always be #1!!!

The Corvette is proof that if you give a bunch of Kentucky ******** the right tools, they can build a vehicle capable of not only keeping up with all the European POS's, but beating them as well.

I am a huge fan of BMWs and have owned 4 cars and an S1000RR motorcycle. They have all been great cars. They are not POS, but highly refined machines. My last M3, a 2011, was a great car and comfortable to drive, even long distance. Is the Stingray better, yes. Is the M4 a POS, not even close.

Agreed I would definitely keep the comparisons classy folks. My last 3 cars were BMWs and they were all great cars. I had a tough time deciding between the M3 and C7 but ultimately the C7 won out because I thought it was a better engineered sports car. I do think the M3 is a great car and it's a good fit for customers who need a back seat.

Well, Ben (Weapon X) still lives in Kentucky, and I am a native Kentuckian. There are also several other forum members here from Kentucky. Call the European cars whatever you like, but let's not propagate inaccurate stereotypes about Kentuckians, or other Southerners, for that matter.
