Hi folks,

Does anyone with a 2015 know whether GM's using the Bosch NG1.1 or the NG2.0 HMI module? It's behind your left foot's kick panel. :)

I would assume NG2.0 since NG1.1 is supposed to be exclusive to CUE and the Corvette team specifically said they started with a CUE based system but dumped it in favor of the current system because it had too many deficiencies.

I also have the 2.0 on my '14. I'm pretty sure all C7s have the 2.0 system through '16. I have seen where the '17s have the 2.5 system. And yes, all HMI modules need to be programmed specific to the car or truck it is installed in.

Any idea what this new module costs?
The video has further info on the YouTube page and you'll be able to contact the vendor directly to get exact answers.

From what I've seen it looks like you need to buy both the new HMI and the radio module in order to get CarPlay ($1400), but don't quote me on that.

And the two vendors I'm aware of will pre-program the modules to your VIN as part of the purchase. A couple hours of time spent installing and you're good to go. The HMI module is behind the driver side kick panel and should take less than 30 minutes. The communication interface module (which is what actually handles the Car Play/Android Auto operation) is a little more time consuming to get to, as its on the passenger side, way up high behind the glove box.
