I was wondering if anyone has been able to get a 3000 code for the Automatic cars yet. I'm being told by MacMulkin that they cannot even input an order to Chevrolet for an automatic car at this time. Anyone?

Autos remain completely un-orderable. Speculation is that orders might be taken in Nov/Dec, however, there are tons of folks out there with deposits for Autos, so if you haven't established a position already you'll likely be waiting a while to put an order in for an Auto.

GM said, in an internal memo to its dealers on September 18th, that there will be a complete constraint in ordering A8's and convertibles for "1-2 months." As we are in that window (until either Nov. 13th or 20th) , one or both of those constraints could be lifted at any time.

What really fries my hamburger is that "Chevrolet" has dangled this A8 0-60 and speed shift responsiveness times in front of our faces, make a pretty good profit selling these cars at "List" (or far above in some cases) but are not producing the transmission and packages that just about everyone wants? Frustrating! "I don't want much, I just want more!"

Actually, hardly anyone pays MSRP any more; there are a lot of dealers that discount pretty decently but you may have to deal with the courtesy delivery issues. Check with some of our forum vendors for prices.

Thanks buzz. You are referring to discounts on the 2015 Z06? I know there are discounts on the "standard" Vette but not on the 2015 Z06. I would send a check today to any dealer, including Kerbec, who would make me a deal on a 2015 Z06!

What Buzz is referring to is correct, for StingRays, e.g., most below list.

However, it is the opposite for Z06's where a minority, and thankfully all our forum dealers, are charging list, whereas the majority of dealers nationwide are asking over list. One Texas dealer is advertising for Z06's at $30,000 over list, and not uncommon for $10K over at many dealers.

Once the constraints come off for A8's and convertibles, good luck to any one getting one with one or both of those two options/models for many months -- until the backlog of those already on dealer lists for months and months, maybe even over a year, has been first cleared out.

Thanks elegant. I am hearing that my order may not be even placed for two months, so they think January. I am thinking more like March, maybe! But my crystal ball is currently broken!

I should be one of the first to get the call for my A8 order. I was high up on Criswell's list and I know at least one dropped out before me. Of the 5-6 ahead of me, I am guessing a few were either M7's or 'verts.

Been trying to get someone within GM to respond to my question of when A8's and convertibles will have their "ordering window" opened. So far, not even a slight murmur of a response, not even a "I think", nor a "perhaps," etc. Absolute silence.

At the same time, this is not unusual for GM, and it does not mean anything negative as far as when the ordering window will be open. Could be that that window doesn't open until the morning of November 13th (maybe sooner), and "when the door opens," there might not even be a even a partial A8 and/or convertible constraint.

All those waiting for either of these things, should not take the silence, the lack of rumors, as negative news. It may be the calm before the the storm!
