The first 2015 StingRays were completed today, ahead of the original scheduled which called for the first ones to start down the line on Monday. Congratulations to "FCCCVP," on his beauty, already named "Shark," VIN # 10, getting done on day 1 of the 2015 model year. Here is "Shark!"

Troy has been a super-expectant father now for months, since he placed his order in the winter. As those who have been following his excitement know, Troy is committed, thorough and methodical, and has been "working his investigation" as to his StingRay's progress, with passion, for a long time now. More sleuthing, and following a hunch, he re-arraigned his work scheduled earlier this week, and headed to the Plant early today. As he is driving to the Plant, he got a call from his salesperson, saying you are VIN # 10 and your car is being assembled today. His salesperson at first doesn't believe Troy when he responds, "I am heading to the Plant right now and not too far away."

Troy gets on a tour, making friends with the Tour Guide and together they plot as to where the car might intersect on the tour. Here comes the first five 2015's, all Arctic White, and then, drum roll, the parade of 10 Shark Grays, starting with VIN # 6. They collectively look at one car, the Tour Guide thinking it was Troy's, but it was # 12 and had the wrong color interior. The car in front of it was a convertible, then, a special moment, there was # 10.

Troy looks around, sees no fork lifts or other dangers, and walks a few feet to the alignment area and stands next to his car. A magical day to be sure, for all 2015 expectant parents and for Troy too, for when I was talking to Troy a few minutes ago, he said, "I felt like a kid at Christmas, with chills running through my body."

And now the 2015 StingRay's are in full production!!!

Thanks John.

Its been a very fun day and I would only wish that each and everyone that wanted the chance would be able to do so. Most of my story is pure luck. I have learned and asked a lot from all of you over the last 7 months. When the car went to 3400 on early Monday I had a strong feeling this was going to be a quicker start to the 2015 than we had been told. I took a shot and knew if I was wrong all that it was going to cost me was a day of work and $7 plus gas...lol

Most that know me, know that a Day of work was the hard part. The other part of this story is thanks in large part to my Great Salesman Mike Davenport at Bachman Auto in Louisville, KY. He, the Dealership GM and with some calls from the owner and sponcer of my Corvette Club got the car moved into the front of the Shark Gray paint and into the first week of production. As John said I got a text showing a email he had recived just 10 min before.

I quickly called him to make sure he was not messing with me. He has done that in the past... Great Guy..

He said No its for real your car is Number #10... Then he said he was sorry he did not find out before today.. I told him no problem, I'm on they way as we speak.. he thought I was messing with him.. I told him NO, I will be there in a hour and have a 11:30 tour ticket..

I was able to start talking to one of the tour guides I had met back at the Bash. I told him what info I had and he moved me from the #7 tour to his which was the #2. I new when we hit the floor I was very close to the Car. I could feel it..... Ok a little BS, I walked up to one of the cars and read the Vin#. It was 00143 and I could look across and see Shark Gray cars.

If it was not for a Forklift issue I would have made it to the car intime to start Him.

If you car is Vin# 00001 to 00143 Your car is beautful in person. I hope to have it home a ready to return to the Caravan later this month.

For us guys who were the first ones to get the 2014's it was exciting and now bittersweet were no longer going to be the only model year for such an exciting car. For all of you getting a 2015 I know your excitement and will share in your posts and follow as I did in the beginning for the 14's. congratulations to all of you now and in the soon to be future! Hi Weston! Welcome to the forum. You should start a thread "Highest 2014 VIN on the forum?" and post your VIN. Yours is going to be hard to beat.

According to a post on another forum, someone on the tour Friday was told by their guide as he pointed to one of the last 2014's on the line it was #41198 but that seems a little high even including the 1050 premier editions, all the captured test fleet and any other cars built with different S/N sequences than a regular production car.

I've got serial # 35364 on its way to me now from Bowling Green. According to the dealer, it was built just the other day. I'd expect that to be pretty close to the end of the 2014 run.
Weston, welcome aboard and congrats on your C7 masterpiece. Soon you will be wheeling your Vette around Lafayette.
