Yah that is looking pretty bad. Mine is not having an issue nor any others I have seen. Don't worry about squeaks that have not even happened yet. More than likely that will be the end of it.

 

Steve, I've never seen a dash that has had this problem, I think your the first forum member to report this problem. Keep us updated on how they square away this situation.

Adummy let me know how long it takes, my dealer said he has not had to replace a dash yet and will need the car for 1 week? WTF

 

Most time was ordering it and expecting it... They ordered last Monday and arrived Tuesday.. They told me 2 days for tech to take everything apart and reinstall. . So im suppose to picj up end of day today or tomorrow. . Shouldn't need your car until dash arrives. . But if small dealership may be there first installing.. Will let you know how looks sounds after my inspection. .

Yeah im in florida. .. They have been awesome after I complained to coporate and Gm for not wanting to replace. .

 

That's the batwing. Simple to replace since it pops right off.

 

I wonder if the lesser trims are susceptible to this? FL sun/heat kills interiors & exteriors, both over time.

 

RedHot (2LT) is still in excellent shape after 2 years (as of a week from today) in the desert heat here. However, most of the time she is parked in the sun I put up the reflective HeatShield on the interior of the windshield.

 

My dash is coming up by the vent on top of the dash who do I talk to to get this fix or can it be replace and how much does it cost

For what it worth. I once read that Sonax Leather foam cleaner conditioner will help prevent the peel up. I apply it to the dash every couple of months and so far no peel up after 4 years. It says it has beeswax in it. Not sure if that has anything to do with helping it not peel up.

 

I realize this is an older post with a few recent additions. And I do not have the problem with my 22,000 mile, 5 year old C7. However, it got me wondering if there isn't some kind of fix short of dash removal available. My thinking is that one might be able to use something like a hypodermic needle to inconspicuously inject some glue under the problem area, maybe through one of the stitching holes. I am guessing that whatever adhesive was used is failing; perhaps one could replace it and have it last a while longer. Is such a fix possible? --Bob

 

I think that is a good suggestion Bob, with a caveat: I would not do that if the dash covering issue is over the airbag (passenger side) area. Like you, I have not had any problem with RedHot's dash and it is about 7 1/2 years old.

 

Well GM rep called me Thursday for cost assistance to replace my dash and Friday the dealer call to set up appointment to take it in I will have to call him back Monday so I can get a car until they fix it hope it don't cost too much.
Also getting the upgrade on the magnetic ride

 

Well GM called me again today and they are going to replace my dash and pay 50% of the cost anyone know how much that is.
I told them to go ahead keep the car until its done I feel a lot belter knowing that its now getting fix

 

I have a number for a GM rep to call to get things moving if you want they are doing mine this week
Dose anyone know how much dose it cost to replace it so I have some what of a idea

Well I got back my C7 Stingray with the new dash and it looks great.
Anyone have any suggestion on what to use to keep it looking new and from it peeling up!

 

cringer7, glad you got your dash issue resolved. Per your post #28, would you mind sharing what it cost to be replaced? As to what to use to keep it looking new and from peeling, I suggest using a windshield sun screen whenever you park in the sun. You can use any of a variety of products to keep it looking new. Whichever one you decide on, make sure it includes a UV block.

 

CorvetteMechanic just posted a video on Facebook showing how the replacement dash is manufactured to remedy this problem. Simply put, the new dash that he was installing is now stapled in the complete area where the upholstery is "rolled over". That's in addition to the previous gluing process.

I realize this is an old post, but my 2015 Z06 3LZ trim is also having this issue. Contacted GM and after a few days of them looking into what could be done, they offered me a $100 voucher to use towards a future maintenance bill, lol. The quote from the dealer to replace the dash was $2468.84, plus tax and shop fees. My Z06 only has 9K miles and is always garaged. I'm not the original owner, but I know the previous owner I bought the car from kept it in a garage, and the car is spotless except for the dash. Seems like every time I drive it to work, and it sits out in the sun all day it gets worse, even though I do use a sunshade. I've seen several people get GM to pay much more than $100, any ideas or GM contacts that helped anyone on here that I can reach out to? My dash is gray, took pics in the garage which makes it look brownish, lol! Appreciate any info or contacts that I could reach out directly to if that's even possible!

 

Exact same issues on my 3LT jet Black. Sucks - ordering a new one to replace myself.

 

Welcome to our forum Stapdog2020. Sorry to read of your dash issues. Practically speaking, your car is 7 years old and well out of any warranty along with the fact that you are the second owner. Though it obviously wasn't the response you wanted from GM, its at least something you can use towards an oil change. You might be able to find a leather repair shop that could come up with a less expensive solution than full dash replacement.

 

Going to have some fun in the future if I can get a new dash sent from GM. Still working on finding one not back ordered. Could be a long haul. saw a video on how to remove and since I am retired I have the time, patience and believe skill to preform this major surgery. If it come to flirtation I'll post detailed how to pics.
