Has anyone experienced this having leather starting to come unglued? Called the dealer today and he said he will order a new dash, that does not make me happy cause taking this dash off will probably introduce squeaks and noises that I don't have as of yet. :(

I have a 2017 Grand Sport, 3LT convertible that has the leather lifting and buckling at the air vent and HUD. The car was purchased new in 2018 and is garage kept with 13,500 miles. This is a manufacturing defect since GM changed the fastening method on the C8 models to include stapling the material around the entire perimeter in addition to the adhesive only used on the C7 models. Took the car to the dealer and after a 1 minute evaluation consisting of looking through the windshield, determined it was due to the "chemical" cleaner(s) used on the dashboard that caused the leather to separate; I used nothing but a damp cloth on the dashboard. The cost to fix the manufacturing defect is $4000+, which GM is claiming no culpability. I am making it my mission to share this experience with every forum available to get GM to own up to their responsibility to correct their mistake. I have owned (4) corvettes as well as many other GM vehicles and will never buy another GM product again unless they make this right. I own a BMW M440i and will trade in this car for an M4 if there is no resolution.

Welcome to our forum reallc61, Sorry to read of your dash issues. I suggest that even though it is out of warranty you calmly discuss this with your GM Regional contact (see your owners manual).

Starting to hear more and more of folks with these dash issues. Lucking out so far into my 10th year and 35k+ miles (almost all miles top down). Since it is garaged when not being driven, maybe this is why I'm having good luck? Man, cracking and sun damaged dashboards have been a never ending issue with the car industry that 100 years of evolution seems to be powerless to fix. Well, metal dashboards seem to have worked back in the day!

When I ordered my Z06 in 2016 that is exactly what I concluded. 2LZ had plenty. Saved some money and I am happy with it, 27,000 miles later. --Bob
