I assume that was a question. You can set your DIC display to show when it is in 4cy and when it is in 8cy. I have mine set that way and am amazed how often it shifts between the two. Its practically seamless. I operate my automatic in tour mode with npp set open (off).

Yup. It goes to 8 as you slow down to stop and while you are stopped. That also allows for smooth starts as the 8 is needed when the light turns green.No, it stays in V8 mode at a stop, at least my Silverado does. If it went into V4 mode it would be very rough and have a hard time maintaining a low idle speed and since it's using very little fuel the savings woudn't be worth it.
