A month ago, in the September 18th consensus, approximately 500 lucky Z06 manual trans, coupe orderers were told that their orders had been accepted for future production. Specifically, on September 23rd, the "group of 500" were moved to status 3000, "Queu'ed for Production."
There is been no movement since in any of the 500 orders, with the one exception that some who had NOT ordered the Z07 option, and who were initially told that their carbon fiber visible (CFV) aero package had been excepted, were contacted, some as late yesterday, and told that CFV had been removed from their orders -- all given the option to get CFZ, remove all aero options, or have their order resort to status 1100, for later resubmittal of their order with CFV.
This current consensus, approximately 300 manual transmission, coupe Z06 orders were accepted, with most, if not all, of these 300 going to status 3000 tomorrow.
Will this result in that there will be 800 Z06 orders tomorrow being at status 3000?
We do not know, but being the internal optimist, and with all of us realizing that the November 3rd tentative, target production start is just 8 work days away, I hope and believe that the first group of 500 from the September 18th consensus will become status 3300 tomorrow. Might those who have an NCM Buyers Tour be told their Z06's actual bill date? Might others in the group of 500 be told their TPW's?
We sure do not definitively know but I believe, FWIW, that the answer to those last three questions will be "yes."
I know of an extremely highly-connected-person who has been told to expect his personal Z06 to be completed the early part of the November 3rd–7th week. Another person was told that his Z06 would be built the first two weeks of November; whether that would be a TPW of November 3rd or November 10th was not specified, and this person was also told, "suggest you not to purchase your airline tickets yet."
Even with those two optimistic, individual communications, we still do not have any confirmed, recent information from GM that actual customer Z06 production will start on/about November 3rd. Perhaps GM in their very last week of Z06 testing, found something that they could improve on, a change that would delay production a day or two? Or perhaps in keeping with all businesses' desire to under promise and over deliver, Z06 customer car production might be starting the end of this week or next week?
Any guesses or info as to whether we have "a happy 500" tomorrow?
