While I do not frequent the Z06 forum regularly, and while everyone may already be aware of the information I am sharing, here are a couple of things that I learned from Harlan Charles and Jeff Lamarche today:
The plant is producing approximately 200 Z06 pilot cars prior to launching the production car builds. I saw a few of these on the assembly line while on the plant tour. They have made about 25 so far.
The LT4s are being built at the Bowling Green plant and you will soon have the option of physically building your own LT4 engine at the plant with the Z07 package. This will also be available outside of the Z07 package at some point. I think the details are still being worked out.
Most of the additional weight on the Z06 comes from the supercharger.
The Z06 grille provides better airflow than having no grille at all.
Jeff Lamarche is now driving an AW Z06 that came off the line this week.
The GM design team spent some time looking at my Stingray. I don't remember who said it, but one of the men said, "It's a Z06 junior!" LOL
