I think Bruzek raises some good points, but as always, it is based on personal perspective and what you want from your C7. Many of those points have been voiced on various posts throughout this forum. He does have a minor error in his description of the 3LT vs 2LT package. He states you get a security upgrade only with the 3LT. In fact both the 2LT and 3LT include the security system upgrade.

When one reads through many of the posts on our forum as to why an individual bought/ordered a particular model, ie: base v Z51, 1 2 or 3 LT, etc., you see explanations ranging from intended use (track v never-to-be-tracked), to driven by a particular look, to heavy influence from a friend, to a financial decision and/or a combination of these. Bottom line is there is an abundance of information and opinions available to the potential C7 buyer and they should avail themselves of as much as they can or want to handle/tolerate before making their own personal decision. We offer the added possibility of PMing members of this forum to ask further questions if one doesn't want to discuss it openly. But it comes down to making a personal choice that you think will satisfy you. For many of us that have one, the C7 doesn't disappoint and is one phenomenal car.

I have ordered a new Stingray and I ordered it with everything! Speaking from personal experience from past car purchases.... if I made some compromise or didn't wait to get exactly what I wanted, there was always some level of disappointment! When buying a sports car as fine as the Corvette, and you obviously don't buy one every day, I feel you must get the best available! I know I don't want to wait for the Z06(7?) when I can just have a supercharger installed on this one. Anyway, just my personal thoughts. As for the money....just go for it! Good luck to everybody!

I get tired of vehicles rather quickly and I have found that it is easier to sell a basic car versus a loaded one that can cost up to $10k more.I am in the business which helps a little, but I fear this C7 is going to be my first hit in a while

For some perspective.... A ten thousand dollar difference is going to be approximately $180 per month! Giving up a Starbucks Latte per day will save about $150! You will certainly get much more satisfaction out of a Corvette decked out the way you want it! Just saying....

In my opinion and this is America and we are still entitled to have our opinions, there is too much stuff in the base Stingray.I don't need different driving modes all the different dash configurations and an infofreakingtainment center!Give me a white car,red gut with a Bose stereo with a 10 disc changer and a full time 450 horsepower V8 and I'm happy!I want a Corvette that is user friendly.

(I think a few real car guys will agree with me)

Gary, no problems mon, with the exception of the 10 disc changer, ignore all of the buttons on your C7 and you have exactly what you want: A 450 hp user friendly phenomenal Corvette.

Wow! Pretty impressive. You should be "real car guy" instead of grandsport. Lol

Lol.Grandsport was the name of our first show dog way back in the 90s when I had a Grandsport .The name has stuck for a bunch of things over the years!

Nice gentlemen, but I think we have gotten a bit off the topic of this thread.

If all,the chest pounding is done I'd like to add my perspective. While as a pure sports car a 1LT Z51 with Mag Ride and Exhaust is about the pinnacle of bang for the buck and I could be quite happy with one spec'd just like that for a long time. However, because I also value additional comfort, security and electronic features my ideal C7 is a 2LT Z51 with Mag Ride, Exhaust and Nav. This will be the car I eventually order and at a $63,000 MSRP it's a perfect combination of performance and luxury without breaking the bank.

OTOH, if you are really into bang for the buck a real "car guy" would wait about 12 months and look for a clean used C7 and save well over $15k. ;)

Geez.....I make a couple of posts about getting what you want and some of you appear to get all butt hurt! I'm not pressing anyone to do anything they don't want to do or for some reason can't do! I was just giving my perspective to someone who asked a question about what to get and how much to spend! And you're right.....this is America! Whatever floats your boat!

Here is what I think; From a point the view only of one 60+ year old "old school" type of guy this C-7 has much more "fluff" than I need or will ever use. Yeah, yeah, I know that all that infotainment stuff might be nice, but I don't need it. Give me a car that goes where I point it, holds the line I direct it into and I am a very happy guy. Give me a seat that holds my butt firmly planted in hard corners and a steering wheel that tells me what is going to happen before an apex and I am a happy guy. This car like most every other car is a way that manufacturers sell their "fluff". Fluff is a high margin market, and when they package it right (in their view) we as consumers have to buy options that we don't want and probably will never use. All I have ever asked is that I get a command voice in what goes into my car, but sadly that day is gone forever. I'll buy what options I am required to in order to get what I want regardless of my bluster.
While I'm at it: We can point that "real car guy finger" all we want, but at the end of the day none of us would be here as much as we are if it were anything other than a fact. I am sure there are different levels of dedication, but we all are car guys / gals that have a pretty high opinion of this rocket that GM calls a Corvette.
