What are the possibility of a stripper version of the C7 down the line? We all know the C7Z will be the most track capable vette ever, and heavier than ever. I'd like to see the add lightness philosophy on the Z28 and C6Z be applied to the C7 gen in one form or another. GS? Who here would take a lighter Z06 without the blower? I like the upcoming Z06 chasis, mated to a LS7 type NA engine would be perfect. On the fence about the Z06 or Z51 with a tune or wait it out.

Why wait for GM to do it? You can buy a C7 and strip it yourself, weight is about money and technology. Lighter high tech materials are out there they generally just cost more. Lighter seats, lighter wheels, body panels, etc all can be done. GM has two ways to make a corvette go faster, making it lighter or adding more hp. Comes down to cost and what is easier to do and safe to do.

There are several articles in specializes magazines that positions the rumor to the effect that there will be a convertible Z06 will be unveiled at the New York Auto Show.

If it's confirmed I will taker you can be sure .

Someone say why take a powerful car like Z "convertible" ? For the pleasure of driving a more powerful American sports car on Sunday.
