My beautiful new Night Race Blue convertible has a flaw. There's a really annoying chirpy, squeaky noise that seems to be coming from near the front of the passenger door. Sounds like things rubbing together. I'll try to get the dealer's service department to search for the cause, but I know I'm more sensitive to squeaks and rattles that many drivers seem to be. I didn't expect the Stingray convertible to be as quiet as my wife's Lexus, but I didn't expect it to be annoying.

Check and see that the passenger seat belt isn't hitting the seat or door when not in use.

If you want to try to isolate the problem and if the noise is external to the door try this; Use a piece of wax paper and position it between the door seal and the door jam. You can reposition / slide the material around the door jam until the noise is gone if that is were it is. I suspect your problem is within the door itself, maybe a loose or unseated clip or fastener. If it is on the interior of the door let your dealer deal with it.

I took it to the dealership near my home where I plan to have it serviced regularly. (I bought it from a dealer not very close to home because they had the model I wanted in stock.) The good news: the nearby dealer's service department is happy to provide warranty service for me; the service advisor was very helpful and friendly; they have a Corvette specialist mechanic with many years of Corvette experience; he took a test drive and heard the sound I was complaining about. The bad news: the Corvette specialist is booked solid for the next week and can't get to my car until the 31st.

I suspect the noise is something loose inside the door panel. I'll report here when the issue is resolved.

I hear a random squeak from the passenger side as well that seems to be coming from near the floor. seems to be more prevalent and louder when the car is warm. is that what you experienced?? if so I look forward to the resolution.
My appointment is later this morning, but I'll have to leave the car there for a while. My squeak happens when I drive over a bump and seems to be coming from near the speaker in the upper front of the passenger door.

It appears to have been a plastic trim piece on the passenger side of the convertible top frame that was not properly secured. I think it's OK now, but I drove home with the top down so I'm not certain. I couldn't resist putting the top down, it was sunny and 81 degrees.

wcjulyan, have your wife drive, while you sit there and track down the noise or vibration. Hope you locate it.

Ok so they replaced the actuators that are controlling valves for the dual mode performance exhaust in front of the muffler...not the ones in the tail pipe. on a side note I ran my car at Watkins glen international last weekend and now the overall sound of the exhaust is quieter...not sure why.

My 5 week old, under 600 mile 3LT Z51 also has an intermittent noise coming from the interior passenger door handle area. If I apply moderate finger pressure to the front edge of metal trim on the door handle, the noise stops. I took the car to the dealer, and they applied lube under the metal trim, and it worked for a few days, but the noise has returned. For troubleshooting, I removed the metal trim, and applied a small dab of glue, but no help. :(
