Just got done talking to 'my' sales guy and he told me of a very interesting possibility. Apparently through the end of the year, one can order a C7 in any color GM offers. Not sure of the price tag associated with that but it could be the opportunity to get a special color not normally available.

Since I'm not sure how to validate what I've been told aside, please do your own due diligence.

I might be wrong, but I have a hard time believing that BG would take on paints that they don't already have experience with. They have enough headaches getting good quality results with the colors they offer now.

I don't disagree but I'm not sure how or where to verify.

Porsche and Rolls Royce have been doing that for years. For Porsche, it adds about $5,500 to the cost.

But Jeff, how many colors does Porsche offer across their entire line. GM has a huge color palette to draw (pun intended) from.

I believe that price from Porsche is for color matching to your sample.

The new BGAP paint center still has the ability to paint a max of ten colors, and they are busy painting 152 cars per day, in batches of ten in a row of each color. Thus, as previously posted, this does not make economic, nor plant-capability sense, especially with the backlog of current orders to manufacture.

If sales were slow, and GM was looking to generate new sales, this could be a possibility in the last couple of years of the C7 cycle.

Having said that, thank you Dasyatis, for bringing back the info, for we have all learned info from interesting sources, and since "GM isn't talking," this is a good place for us to collectively evaluate it all.
