While driving yesterday and today, several times my dash (I know they call it something else now, but I can't think of the proper words) info dimmed. It happened when it started raining, but also happened various other times that seemed to have nothing to do with the headlights (like when I changed the volume of a song that was playing). It is not a huge deal, but I was wondering anyone else had noticed this?
Also I should mention that the illumination knob was turned to max. There was no other way to adjust it, as far as I know.

This has been noted on a few sites...it's not your imagination - usually a situation at Dusk...One of the Chevy customer reps noted it, and sent it on up to the proper channels....

Happened to me tonight...at dusk. Adjustment worked the HUD only. All of a sudden they came on.

Make sure you have the knob that turns the interior lights on all the way over just one click from having the lights on. It made mine brighter I agree with Cyber 11... happens at dusk but then illuminates at night.

If I am not mistaken this is a Microsoft System. Ford went through similar issues on there Edge in 2011. Expect a couple of software uploads. The only problems with the uploads that we might experience is a loss of personal settings which will have to be reset.

It is not a Microsoft system. Ford uses the Microsoft Sync software. This is actually a custom Unix based implementation developed specifically for Chevrolet and interfacing with Johnson Controls hardware.

There seems to be a glitch with the daytime illumination of the IP with respect to the light sensor on the dash reporting one thing while the headlights come on during the day (weather, low light or dusk). This is leaving the IP in daylight mode when it should move to night mode when the headlights come on. Turning the brightness up doesn't help as it can't go high enough to illuminate in this mode during the day with the auto dimming brought on by the lights being on.

It has been reported and will be dealt with.

Yes I do have this issue too. I was going to call my dealer on this. Im assuming the fix is in the future.

What do you mean when you say "it will be dealt with"? Do the dealers have a fix? Update?Reflash? Or what? My car did this same light dimming last night about dusk. The cluster lights dimmed as well as the radio area. Same thing happened this morning while it was still half daylight. This is a first occurrence. After a restart of the car, they came on right. I'm wondering if GM has a fix and do the techs know about it.
