Black, Silver or Chrome? And why?

Just curious about the popularity of each.

Definitely agree. AW with black wheels is the best looking Stingray made IMO. Another reason to justify a Z51 order.

Mine came with chrome but I sold those and purchased black z51 wheels. Black on the arctic white is amazing

One of my concerns as well......what about easily damaged/scratched/chipped/etc? I can only imagine nightmares getting tires changed without very visible damage to the wheel's paint.

There are tire changers on the market that don't touch the wheel at all during removal or mounting the tire.

I have black rims. Do I clean them often? Well I've had my car for 24 hours and I've cleaned them twice already. They weren't dirty though. Kind of like having a new girlfriend. Constant touching when it's new. Not a good data point for you since I only have 25 miles on the car!

My original order was silver...I had it changed to black after looking at many pictures on here. We'll see how it turns out in person when it gets here next month!

I also figured it would be "easier" to find a set of silver wheels in the future. Either way, don't stress over the choice too much. A jack and 20 nuts are all that stand between you and a wheel change.

Yeah, a local Discount Tire has one of the "touchless" machines...don't recall the model. Its in a upper end neighborhood here in Austin where very expensive wheels are common. They still managed to jack up my current wheels. A$$holes......

I have! Most appear to go black, at least the ones that post pictures. That combo is the best in my opinion. Just concerns about the long term maintenance with black.

I got the Chrome Aluminum wheels because that is what they put on the showroom cars and I thought it was worth the extra $

I went with the stock/base silver painted aluminum. I can see how many people like the black wheels but for me the black accents from the vents, grill, rear bumper and tinted windows was the right amount of contrast to the AW. The black wheels made it a little too lopsided in color for me. So, I realize I'm in the minority on this but that's why there are options.

If you are asking me no, I have a CB Grey (w/silver) on order but the AW with black looks awesome. I can still change my order; I"m switch back and forth as to what looks better. And yes, there are very few AW pics with silver wheels. I do have some if you want to PM me your email and I'll send what I have.
