I think I got the backspacing thing figured out. Just to clarify if I have 2 wheels that are the same size, one has +25 backspace and the other is +50, the +50 would stick out about an inch more...

Second is two wheels with same backspacing but one is 10" wide and the other is 11" wide, the 11" wheel will stick out .5" more!

Is this correct???

No just the opposite bro. You have to think of the center line of the wheel. If you're adding to this ie "+50" you're moving the hub outwards from the center line. If you're moving it inwards like on my Hummer to kick the wheels out, you're doing "-" offset. Also, a 1" wide wheel would only change the offset by 12.5mm as you're splitting the diff. You also have to be careful because wheels actually add the lip on the face which if you're doing real world measurements, you need to find out how much that is. x10" Welds are actually x11" wide when you add the big lip in the tire rides right inside. :)

This chart will help.
