Not sure it was actually a Z51 even though it has the Z51 tail, it appears to have the non-Z51 wheels. Regardless it is very unfortunate and hopefully the driver escaped injury.

That's not a happy sight. I'm not going to show the wife that photo.

Looks like somebody should have attended the Ron Fellows course first!

How does anyone on this forum know what happened by a picture? Let's turn this forum into the other crappy corvette forum on the Internet by assuming from a picture what caused this incident. And really the z51 comment was just plane dumb as thousands of non z51 have done track days without incident... those comments belong over on the other corvette forum.

Any misfortune on a track for someone is not a good thing, no matter what car they are driving. Hopefully the driver is OK.

Many years ago, I raced in SCCA National sprint races. I later assisted a friend who liked to drive his street car at SCCA solo events. There always seemed to be a lot more rollovers and mishaps like this at the Solo events. I guessed it was a combination of less stable suspensions, and driver experience.

I remember once at a solo, a fellow rolled his girlfriend's brand new car. Nobody was injured, but both were extremely upset. They were considering pushing the car down an embankment somewhere, and telling the police that the car had been stolen. Don't know how that ever worked out.

OK, let's back it down a notch. I read the comment by dougeb101 to be tongue-in-cheek, much the same as Ret9580 saying they should have attended Ron Fellows first. No one is presuming any knowledge so far as to what occurred and most expressed their concern appropriately.

Here the story so nobody gets wrapped around an axel about a comment the driver was 100% fine had traction control off was drifting around a corner heading to a straightaway over corrected started zig zagging and slid sideways into the barriers and rolled up on its side they said could have been worse and rolled more If not for barriers.

That's a real bummer. It could happen to anyone of us. Reality check!

Watching this since the C5 was first released in 1997. Get lose and over correct, hit the brakes. It's all over then. You have to drive through it and lift gently. Stay off the brakes. Nannie's would have probably saved it. Sad to see.
