Beautiful sunny day finally here in central Illinois ! Battery deader than hell. Two clicks and that was it. Got my 2017 couple months ago and battery says 2/20 on it.

Also, these things use a good bit of power just sitting. I'm in SW Fl and mine gets run a LOT as a rule but if it's going to be sitting for any length of time, it's on a Battery Tender Plus. Never have had a problem.

May I ask is it the original battery or second one?

The age of the battery is what has me puzzled about it being dead.

Well that appears to confirm that the battery connections are in good shape. Age that the battery was put in won't necessarily be a good indicator of its condition. It could have one or more dead cells or as mentioned in my earlier post been only driven on mostly short trips that did not allow for it to fully charge. You could take it to an auto supply shop- they often will do a free battery load check.

Also remember to check the quality of the accessory charge connection in the trunk.

I'm going to yank it tomorrow and have shop use a load tester. I'm lucky. There is a "Battery Specialist" store here. Its basically a Mom and Pop store. But they test batteries and charging systems for free and sell good quality batteries for a fair price. Ive seen high end cars getting worked on and plenty of semis and farm tractors.

Thanks for the install tips !! One thing you forgot to mention and of course I would have it happen to me is to make sure the battery hold down rod on rearward side didn't fall out of place and lay under battery. LOL Battery doesn't exactly pull out and go back in easily. Shop tested my old one and it had 4 amps. Fires right up now ! Thanks for help !!!!!!

Ever thought of using a trickle charger? I have been using Battery Tender Automatic Model 021-0123 which plugs into a 110 volt socket and at the other end I have a cigarette lighter style plug. Just plug it in and the device will do the rest. Before you decide to take you C-7 for a spin, don’t forget the to unplug it. I’m still using the factory battery 8 years later! Happy motoring
