Anybody got a better way to keep a charge on the battery other than routing the wire over the hatch seal with the hatch cracked? It is dusty where I live so I'd prefer not to have the hatch open. NCM suggested routing it through the passenger door. Kind of a hassle.

On my C5 I just had the connector lay just outside the hood between the hood and windshield. Worked great. Just plug and unplug.

C7 ******* if you would like to see alternatives (including hard wire quick disconnect) please use our excellent search function for past posts on this. The simple answer is that you can safely close the trunk on the CTEK or GM battery maintainer (the GM one is made by CTEK). The rubber gasket will protect the wire and the body from damage.

This is a stupid question, I know the battery is in the back of the car but how do you get to it? And I check the oil last night for the first time and it was way low do you check it running I guess I need to read the manual also mine is a Z51, just close the back hatch on the wires it will not hurt it if you don't forget its hooked up and drive off with it.

Yep I see that now. Looks like I can put a quick connector up there. NCM said not to close the hatch on the wire or it will cause seal damage.

NCM did not tell me that nor have I ever seen it in writing; perhaps it was a personal suggestion of your docent. It is designed to be used at the back accessory outlet (the only one that is live when the Stingray is off) and with the trunk fully closed across the flat cord.

It is under the right rear carpet in the hatch compartment.
