I used Mobile 1 for the first 50K miles on mine and the engine looked perfect inside. I had a number of changes made to the engine and now use Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil. It was recommended by the engine builder. I track mine a lot.

One other item I learned is that the Delco filter should be used as it has a higher filter bypass pressure than the aftermarket ones, or so I was told.

For street use, the Mobile 1 0-40 (recommended in 2019, I think) or the 5-30 (recommended in earlier years, IIRC) are fine. Pennzoil Ultra Platinum is, I believe, a superior oil, but Pennzoil doesn't pay GM for the Dexos label, so technically wouldn't satisfy the warranty requirements.

EDIT: Added Ultra above, which is what I meant to say in the first place.

Regardless of mileage, GM says to change the oil at least once a year. The OLM will count down to zero in 12 months or less, so just change it when that tells you to.

I have been using Mobil One 5W30 in my C7 since I bought it in 2016. That is what the owner's manual recommends.
The new oil recommendation for all C7’s & C8’s is the new Mobil 1 0-40wt Supercar oil. The reason is because of its direct injection fuel system. Fuel is no longer atomizing on the back of the valves which cause a high carbon buildup. The oil doesn’t stop this from happening 100% but it’s a start.

For C8s, absolutely. And beginning in 2019, C7s were shipped with 0w-40. Previous C7 Corvettes, however, were filled with 5W-30,
although Mobil 1’s 15W-50 was recommended for track events. 0w-40 was selected as the happy medium in 2019 to save owners
the trouble and cost of changing oil every time they planned on taking their Corvette to a track event. For those C7 owners who don't
track or engage in an extraordinary amount of balls-to-the-wall street driving, 5w-30 remains as safe of a choice as it always has been.

There is an informative thread on the new Mobil 1 ESP 0-40wt rebranded Supercar oil.
The fact remains that all C7 & C8’s are direct injected vehicles. Just because you don’t track the car has little to do with coking on the back of your valves that the new oil tries to address.
Don’t take my 2 cents, do a search on issues with direct injected vehicles.

After the Dexos1 Gen2 specifications came out, Pennzoil broke down and paid the fee for the Dexos label on their Pennzoil Platinum line, but did not do so for the higher-quality Pennzoil Ultra Platinum line. I suppose that they don't sell enough of the Ultra Platinum line to make it profitable for them to pay for the Dexos1 Gen2 label on it.

Of course, back in the day before the Dexos1 Gen2 specifications came out, Ultra Platinum did have the original Dexos1 label.

I managed to make it through all of my warranty period with Ultra Platinum with the Dexos1 label (I always took pictures when I changed the oil in case I ever needed warranty work), but now that I don't have a warranty anymore, I don't care that the new bottles of Ultra Platinum for the last two years or so don't have the Dexos1 label anymore. Also, after my warranty ended, I haven't bothered taking pictures anymore, either.

Anyway, I don't want to downgrade to the regular Pennzoil Platinum just to get the Dexos1 Gen2 label; I prefer to use the better "Ultra" oil, and not worry about the labeling anymore, since I don't have a warranty anyway.

I did mean the Ultra Platinum in my original post, just failed to make that clear. My bad. I've updated that post accordingly. I personally wouldn't be worried about using the Ultra Platinum in my LT1 either, with or without the Dexos label.

I have been using 5W-30 since purchasing my Z-51. I have not had any problems, to my knowledge. I have never had the oil analyzed either. Is that something I need to do?

No, it is not necessary at all.
