Hey does anyone know the best way to make the side-mirrors black (they are currently red).

I am thinking something like plasti-dip but glossy, or maybe vynal wrap, spray, etc...

I did multiple searches on this forum but came up short believe it or not!

Thanks in advance.

You can do it either way. Plasti dip does sell a gloss finishing for all of its colors.

Just make sure you spray a heavy, uniform coat by building up layers of thin coats. I applied this to mirrors on a car... and it held up nicely for more than year. Then I sold that Ford. But if you ever want to remove the coating, it comes off much easier if you've applied a heavy enough total coating.

Oh man, I did it and here is what happened:

1) The "Glossifier" didnt work at all. Maybe a little, but nothing like i'd imagine. I even layed wet coats etc as recommended by some research I did.

2) when I tried to take off the protective masking tape from the surrounding areas, some of the plasti-dip was stuck to them and got pulled off since there is a pretty acute-angled crease where the mirror attaches to the body.

I may just take it off and leave em red... (Or, only keep the black on the actual mirror shell, not the arm that attaches it to the body. But that might look weird lol.

Just a note of help here... when you pull the masking tape, make sure the plastidip is still wet, if possible. I learned this as well, after doing a lot of plasti on various cars. With most paint, you want to pull the tape while the paint is still wet. When it dries, it increases the chances for "untoward events." Yea, that kind of sucks. But if you want to do it over, you may find it goes much better the next time around. I think having the entire mirror and post black looks cool. Good luck.

Stick with the body color on the mirrors. Looks much better.

Okay, ***sigh*** please take this as it was intended. Not trying to rain on anyone's parade here. IMO, AND ONLY MY OPINION the black mirrors just don't do it for me. Body color mirrors become part of the car. Black mirrors look more like an add-on, an accessory. Years ago you got black mirrors as a cheaper option. Finally, when I see black mirrors, I think Mickey Mouse ears.

Just one old man's opinion.

I respect everyone's opinion. I have a Stingray like Airbender except mine is silver. With the transparent roof, black wheels, vents, carbon flash spoiler, stripe, emblems and of course the black rear fascia, the mirrors fit perfectly.
