Dont do it, have a novistrech bra put on for the ride home. Film is a big investment and a skill to put on. If you have a problem you''re never going to get it fixed because the installers is 2000 miles away..... much better to get it done at home , by a local that you can visit if you need a fix.

Got my Xpel done on my way back to Cali. The job was less than desired and took it to a local guy who had done work for me before and between him Xpel and the shop that first did it I was taken care of and it was redone perfect Xpel takes care of there customers

Does anybody know if the Novastretch bra will work for a Z06? I'm planning to use one after delivery which is a real possibility in the next 60 days.
I'm interested, too.

Do you really think you'll be taking delivery in the next 60 days? I don't have an official TPW yet, but thinking it might be 1st week in November (per the constraint list when my order went to 3000). After quality hold and shipping, a very knowledgable contributor on this forum said I'd likely see the car in early January. But, I live in TX, which is a contributing factor in the delay.

I would just call the Novistretch company they may be making a custom cover for the wider Z06.

I will call Novistretch on Monday, but am curious as to why they might be making a separate Z06 version, that as the front fascia on a StingRay and a Z06 are identical -- have the same part number. Maybe they are thinking doing it to cover the front fender spats, and if so, I wondering how they will reinforce their bra going over that spat's relatively sharp outside edge.

Novi folks are good folks, and looking forward to talking with them and learning more.

Think that the first customer Z06, after Rick Hendrick's, will be delivered by Christmas Eve (only 66 days away), though I have been accused of being an optimistic.

Of, course this is predicated on a common belief we all hold, yet to be verified, that the first Z06 customer car will start down the line the week of November 3rd. We await formal GM confirmation as to that magical start date. If Novemer 3rd is the start week, at least some of those who got to status 3000 on September 23rd, and have remained at that status since, should be reaching 3300 status and/or getting TPW news within the next ten days.

I'm thinking the front fender flares may require additional material...maybe?

novistrech won't fit the z06 and until they can get one, they won't develop the product.
I will just ask the museum people for a reputable installer.

Thanks "conmax" for your above post. Spot on!

Communicated with Andy (Novigo Designs) this morning and confirmed they will be making a Z06 specific NoviStretch bra. Like many, they are waiting for an actual Z06 they can take detailed measurements, to do final fitment, so it will be a while.... They are specifically going to be working in its fit vis-a-vis the splitter, fender spats, and adjusting the snap location for a perfect fit.

Good folks, especially wanting to get the fit just right, not just guess and be on the market before they actually get to measure one, to insure when released it meets their standards and ours.

Glen, I never thought about that. I ended up driving the first 1800 miles without film and despite being careful about following distances, ended up getting two pinhead size chips on my passenger mirror, which may have even been caused by debris thrown off my front wheel. I didn't get the film down there more because I didn't want to waste precious Nashville time waiting for car to be done. I am glad I got it done closer to my house where I can bring it back if there is ever a problem.

I've read in a number of posts that x-pel is the way to go, but I'm curious how much better it is compared to the 3M products out there. The reason I ask is that the only detailer in town that does wraps uses 3M products. Would it be better to get the higher grade x-pel wrap done in southern ontario when I pick up the car by a detailer I'll never see again, or settle for a 3M product but have local service and support. Any specific 3M recommendations?

I live in AZ so Christmas time is summer time for me and my Z06!
