Just looked at Atomotive News, both for today and for yesterday, and do not see anything about the supposed C7 production delay to September.

Do not buy this alleged delay as accurate.

Some folks think that Bowling Green is making Premier Editions this week. I think that would really piss off thousands of people with sold orders. Time will tell, also next Monday's Automotive News in the production chart.

Today's edition, August 12th, still lists a September start up for the Bowling Green plant and zero production for last week. An anonymous "source" told me they are making some C7s and checking them over thoroughly but not shipping any yet.

I found this online:
"I was at Road America this Sunday and talked to a Corvette rep and he said they were actually building customer cars but they are being held up in Quality Control. He also said they would like to build 18 cars per hour. A woman there showed me one example how they were having minor issues with the rear clip attaching to the body, slight misalignment. They said GM would like to get these problems fixed before releasing them to the public."

I would expect that this IS the sort of thing that GM wants to get right before releasing the car to new owners. Having been in a Q-C role myself I know all too well that the production guys what to produce, and Q-C people want perfection. That can be a good thing!

My dealer told me that they are going through rigorous QC...inch-by-inch, hands-on every vehicle coming off the line. This Sept start-up stuff is a disappointment, especially coming from a publication. That said, I guess I'd like to think it will be worth the wait. I'm #23 on the order list at my dealership in FL. Hoping to have it in October....please. This is my first Vette.

My past vehicles have been Nissans, primarily...including working for Nissan in the northest as the GT-R specialist at a dealership. (That's an amazing vehicle but, IMHO, too specialized to be an everyday driver.) The GM rumor mill is far more active than the foreign guys...press access could be the diff.
