I ordered mine 2 weeks ago with deposit, slated for Sept delivery. A friend of mine in Michigan got his Vette last week. He's not employee, but he is a supplier. Theyre making the vettes however mass production has not started yet.

I know they have test mules running by GM employees, and that was first question I had whether he was employee and it was a test car, but it's not. So my guess is theyre doing limited production or special production cars, testing them making sure production/assembly is working properly, and once everything is certified they will kick it into full scale production. Since production line is completely new, it takes more time to go through all the kinks.

Hey Dave. That's great...you have a projected date already? How did you do that? I ordered on 7/5 and haven't got a clue as to delivery. Another question... do you know the color of car in the photo that you posted. It doesn't look like Torch. I have the Crystal red on order and it doesn't look that either. Chevy said the Crystal red is same paint code as the C6 color (which I loved) but I haven't seen a real good representation of that color anywhere (that worries me.)

I dont have delivery date yet for my order, just heard to expect mid-late Sept. I have my order & deposit placed as well. I just know Im getting one of first ones in Phoenix area. I dont think anyone knows exact delivery date yet as factory hasnt been certified for production. The color in pic is Torch Red. I have C5 and it's same color, pic lighting isnt best.

Also a caveat, if you custom ordered yours make sure you have FE4 package (if u want it) - Magnetic Selective Ride control. Apparently in early orders when you selected certain configuration ie 3LT, NPP, etc this option was grayed out and had to be manually added it by calling GM. Im not sure if this was a glitch or what, but I caught it after my car was ordered where dealership had to call GM procurement dept to have it added after the fact cause this wasnt available as an option.

My very reliable GM source just told me production started 7/22 but in limited quantities for inspection which generally lasts couple of weeks. He said full scale should be starting any day or may have already started so dealers should start seeing vettes in next few weeks. Very excited

Hey murph. Thanks much. That's my combo, with a carbon roof. Phew...that is the color I'm looking forward to. Lots of nice, knowledgeable folks on this site. This is my first experience with a car like this and the expertise is most appreciated. Thanks.

Hey Dave. I don't know what the FE4 package is. I ordered the "old man's model", a 2LT with Nav, A/T, carbon roof, the cool exhaust, and chromies. Anything more and I'd probably pass out! Thanks for your input...it's really helpful for someone new to GM and Vette. Also appreciate your latest news about production...very encouraging and yes, very exciting!!!

Hey, watch this "old man's model" crap. I am getting a 3LT with A/T and chromies. Just pissed I can't get white walls and curb feelers. I will be 70 in December.

The FE4 package is the Magnetic Shocks and the (B4Z) Performance Trackion Management. I have a copy of the GM C7 order book with all the codes and options.

There is always aftermarket to get exactly what you want

Hopefully not, but pretty good guess white walls and curb feelers won't be a problem in heaven

Can you get NAV on all trim levels? One dealer told me only 3LT, he lying? Lol

It is included at no additional charge with 3L, you can order it with either 1L or 2L for $795. Pretty inexpensive compared to the NAV systems on other cars.
