It knows you don't like it, so it is acting out.

Wonder if there's anything we can do that actually works in reducing that. I once shaved down the edges of my pads and greased the shit out of everything. Helped for a day lol.

Performance brakes I assume do this and there's nothing we can do. If anyone can help this problem, you're awesome! Minus putting regular gear on your car vs performance.

I have read of other owners that have had this problem as well. Call your dealer to see if there is a TSB out for this issue, and let us know what you find out.

Mine's a screamer too, just passed 600 miles. Once it's warmed up, I will hear the noise under light braking. There is a section on burnishing your brakes in the instruction manual. I would be very cautious on having the dealer remedy this. On my 2002 Z06, I had the problem, their resolution was to grind down the rotors so that they had to be replaced at the first brake pad replacement. Find out what they want to do first before approving the work.

Eric

P.S. The aforementioned dealer is no longer in business.

My problem is when the vehicle is cold, mainly in reverse and until the car warms up.It is fine at operating temperature. This noise is not a little pig squeal but more of a Tasmanian Devil sound.

Called my dealer today and asked if any bulletins were out on this problem.Got a call back a few hours later saying that there was a service bulletin advising the tech to grease the brake backing plates. The will call me when the "special" grease they ordered from GM comes in.
