I have 2600 miles on my 2014 Ray and the brakes started to squeal when stopping. I have not driven it hard or made any hard braking stops. Is this normal? Has anyone had this problems.

Please state if yours is a Z51 or not. Also, Chip will come along and be able to provide a specific GM document number for you about this condition. You can check with your dealer, but for some the solution is to lubricate a little bit on the backs of the pads, I think.

Anyway, hopefully Chip will be along soon with the definitive answer.

Try to push harder on the brakes for some miles, the squeal will certainly stop.
The OEM pads are certainly a bit better than the other GM cars and the more the pads can perform the more the squeal comes when the pads are under-exploited (in term of temperature).

Rmevette,

Sorry that your brakes are squealing. I understand the displeasure when dealing with a matter like this. Although you're seeking opinions from others, I'd be happy to communicate your concerns with the Customer Experience Managers (CEM) at your GM dealer of choice. Please know that you're welcome to message us privately if you would like to discuss this further, or if you simply want this matter documented.

Kindly,

William R.

Thanks to everyone for your comments. I have a appointment on Tuesday with my dealer to see what the problem might be. Sorry that I did not state that I have a 3LT, Z51 coupe, auto. William if you could have someone fr customer care contact the dealer with my concerns, I would appreciate it. The dealer is Gordon Chev in Tampa, Florida. Thanks again to everyone. I will let you know what happens at the dealer

Not a problem!

And great to hear that you have an appointment scheduled. In order to officially document this process and contact the dealer, I would require some additional information from you that I'd like to obtain via private message. If you could kindly send me a message, we can get definitely see what steps we could take to provide additional assistance. I look forward to hearing from you!
