While hardwiring my radar detector, I managed to break the plastic sill cover on the passenger side (broke off 2 of the plastic pieces that hold the clips so it doesn't sit flush).

What's the best way to figure out the part number and to order. Do I have to go to the dealer for a specialized part such as this?

BTW - radar working great. Appreciate everyone's advice on the forum on how to best do this - wouldn't have done it otherwise.

My pleasure, hope it works out for you...I am sure it will. Just paying it forward one day at a time.

Charlie,
Life is way too short and I felt bad that he broke such a small part while doing installation on his brand new Stingray.
So I only hope he gets it put back together quickly so his car can be whole again sooner then later...hence the reason I sent it out in this mornings mail.

Very, very nice thing you have done Mike. Many years ago, got a new car and while making my first mod, and broke something, and felt so sick -- even though it was just a few bucks to get another one. But it was three weeks, and every time I thought about my car or went over to it during those long three weeks, felt emotionally sick. Mike thanks for being in tuned with new owners, and backing up your empathic thoughts with actions!!!

My pleasure John. I have been doing similar random stuff like this for the past 36 yrs that I have been selling Corvettes and I enjoy making someone's day!
