Does anyone have any plans of doing a built in radar detector? If so what kind where do they place it where does it show up on the dash? Anyone have a good suggestion for this? I have a tendency to get speeding tickets so I want to do my best to avoid this but I hate hanging a radar detector from my windshield!

again, not yet...the car is too new for the aftermarket to have things for sale. When I was dealing with a S florda dealer and he was telling me I would be way down the list, he accidentally showed it to me, and I counted 7 cars going to aftermarket companies so they could design products...it's coming, just wait......

The first order placed by my dealership in Daytona is supposedly for a performance company in Miami. It's Laguna with red interior but hasn't yet made an appearance in Daytona.

Blendmount is working on rear view mirror brackets for the C7. Their products are highly rated and worth every penny for both V1 and Escort products. Passport Max is getting great reviews. I had a V1 and currently use a Passport 9500ix. When my C7 gets in next year I will be exploring installed options (9500ci, etc.). Although I live in Maryland (MD state police are big LIDAR users) I'm very close to DC and NoVA plus have to drive back to Richmond occasionally. Va State Police currently use the Spectre radar detector detector (RDD) in their efforts to pull you over and suck your wallet dry. The newest Spectre versions (IV, IV+ and Elite) will nail anyone if you get close enough. I can attest to this from painful (read: expensive) recent personal experience. Don't have any experience with K40 - will have to research.

I originally was going to consider a permanent built in detector with my C7 but then got the new Escort MAX with their Live option just before going to the 60th Corvette Reunion at Laguna Seca and it performed exceptionally well. So well that I have abandoned my plans for a permanent radar installation because for Live to work, it operates through its Live cord which interacts with your Android or Apple cell phone resulting in instantaneous updates (such as: live police 1527 feet ahead, 15 minutes ago). This 'Live' cord would complicate the permanent installation. So I will be happy to use it with their windshield mount and the Live cord (which also has a USB port for charging your cell).

I had a Belltronics system hard wired into my ZR1. Great system, front and rear and gps on redlight cameras. all in grill and on rear licence plate frame with small control unit attached to side of council by right leg. $1600 installed at most bell stores or $2000 through most dealers. You can turn it off easily if in a state or province with anti radar dector laws. I am getting a new one for the C7 when it arrives.
