I find the engine bay in a C7 to be lame looking. Lots of black plastic. Functional & easy to work on, but no pizazz. Prior to C7 ownership I had a Cadillac XLR that had a finished look to its engine bay. People always wonder what is under the hood of one of these hot rods and they are definitely underwhelmed.

Yes, It is pretty bland stock. But it is a blank canvas. So I decided to do some painting.

I agree, but I guess that's one of the ways GM saves a few bucks.
