Hi All. Just got a manual z06 C7, got nice new grippy tires on it. If I punch hard in first, have full grip and no traction control turning on, but when then shifting hard into 2nd TC will quickly cut power then let it come on.

Anyone have experience with this, even in the base stingray?

If im in 2nd gear at same rpm id be at coming into 2nd from redline 1st, i get no TC coming on.
Do I really need to let up the clutch slower?

tomorrow im going to toy with taking TC off and seeing if there is any real loss of traction or just too much tech trying to take control at the wrong time

Can’t help you on what the stock Z06 does, but try your hard acc. on not warmed up tires it should defiantly kick in. What sticky tires are you using?
I almost never leave the TC on. I do all my traction control with my right foot. I find a bit of tire slip is more fun and it is more predictable. But vigilance is very important!!! I use Hoosier R7 tires.
If you are a bit software savvy, you can load the PDR data into the Cosworth PI toolbox. This is different from the Cosworth PDR reader. With this tool you can identify very clearly your clutch position and see if and when the TC is kicking in. It is free software. (the download process is a hot mess)
Hope this helps

Also keep in mind that when you are moving, there is more likelihood of losing control then you have from a standing start. Many videos out there of people losing control when they lift to shift this TCS know this and prevents it. You also have a whole raft of different TCS settings to play with in PTM.
