I got THE CALL last Friday at 4:58 pm. My C7 was picked up by the factory, my order was placed May 27th. My dealer has a small allocation (10 coupes 4 convertibles) and I was 8th coupe. I was shocked for two reasons, it was an odd pick up date as I thought the 2nd August Consensus was the 22nd and I got the call on the 29th and there was another coupe ahead of me (plus it was the first Consensus for convertibles and there was a vert ahead of me also). So I did not expect the call but I got it. I saw the change to "Queued For Production" on Tuesday and event code 2000, 2500 on Wednesday and 3000 today, Friday. I have no idea how long it will be now but I am using October 25th as my guesstimate for delivery, that's 8 weeks since the call. I really didn't expect to get picked up until second October Consensus. When my salesman called he said that the had their first convertible picked with me and their second C7 built, VIN ..09 was the first and, I believe ..17? Was the second one built. He then went on to say that 8, 9 and 10 still haven't been picked up, like a dummy I responded but "I'm number 8" and he said, "NO you're number 7". I shut up. It feels a lot different 1100 because I have a timeframe to work with, i'm using 8 weeks and their are more stages to go through, 2000, 2500, 3000, 3100, 3300, 3400 and 3800. Event wise it is much more crowded then the 98 days I spent at 1100. Congratulations to all that are ahead of me and to those behind, the call can come when you least expect it and I will do my part by getting my CRT Z51, MSRC and NPP wrapping me in 3LT Kalahari out of YOUR WAY!
