C7 Corvette Stingray New Products

Has anyone attempted this yet? Would love to see a video of how much it actually retracts if someone has it. Or an honest opinion if it's ugly and sucks lol.
I asked that same question last week. I have seen this in action on a C7. It's a great mod. The owner had it installed in the center. The only way to really notice it was if you were actually looking under the car, but not from dead on.

BTW, I just ordered on from eBay for $115.

The price seems to have jumped to $199

Just an FYI guys, the $199 version is not the same as the $115 version.

Here is my personal experience with both products.

The $199 version is made completely of carbon fiber so it is light and strong. It mounts through the front grille and is easily removable. With the plate off, the car looks stock and you can't see any mounting hardware.
The $115 version uses a heavy metal track the mounts under the car, which can easily scrape on speed bumps, parking curbs and road inclines. When you lower the plate, it slides under the car thus further increasing the chance of bottoming out. You can see the plate tucked under the car and you can see the mounting hardware. I had the $115 version first and the sold it and purchased the cf version for my ZR1. When I get my C7 in the spring, I will purchase the Carbon Fiber version.

Man, I think I'm just going to not use a front plate at all and risk it. I'd always have it off or down. Can you request from the dealership to not add the mount? Does the stock mount harm the car at all? What's the fine average fine anyways, and do people actually get stopped for that?

For a negative consequence, see third picture in this thread.

You can request your dealer not put on the front license late bracket, but whether they comply with your request? Fines vary from state to state, e.g., Washington is $124 and the last time I checked in Oregon, it was $92. However, with increasing jurisdictions installing speed cameras, traffic light cameras, etc., many states are getting harsher and harsher on folks who do not display the front plate (if required).

Yes Ed that has been my experience in Texas. I have always been given a warning not a citation. I usually carry it under my seat and tell the trooper it had come off on a parking curb on in car wash.,,

I guess I've been lucky with every Vette I've owned. Never stopped for sans front license plate.
Now that you posted that you may have to curse yourself like zimm888! In a prior post I mentioned I had gone 10 years living in three different front license plate States in my 1989 vette and never got stopped. After 2 months in my C7 I received a written warning two days ago. Now hearing more stories like this. C7 is just too conspicuous.
