Another recognition for the StingRay, tied for the top for percentage of materials made in the United States, specifically for the "Made In America Auto Index" annual evaluation.

When it comes to an “American vehicle,” it’s a widely gray area these days. Some Toyotas are made in America. Some Volkswagens are made in America. Oppositely, some Chevrolets that are sold here are made in Korea and Mexico. It’s easy to see that these days it goes beyond where the brand is from, and many will argue that some of the most “American” vehicles are Toyotas and Hondas due to their American-made parts content. But according to international business professor Frank DuBois and his annual “Made in America Auto Index,” American brand vehicles took this year’s top rankings. And not just any American vehicles, but iconic ones.

The 2014 Corvette Stingray and outgoing Ford F-150 pickup are both quintessentially American cars. Few other vehicles can be described as such (perhaps the Jeep Wrangler, Ford Crown Victoria and GM SUVs could find themselves in that category). And because they tied with a score 87.5 each in the 100-point index, they have to share this year’s crown as the most ‘Merican motoring machine.

Last year, it was GM’s Lambda platform large crossovers.

That's good to hear, sure would like to see US cars go back to 100%.
I totally agree! The more a car is made here, the more desirable I find it!
