There is no Z51 badging.

There are some differences in appearance. On base coupe the front air dam is intact all the way across whereas on the Z51 there are only small parts of the air in front of each tire; the center part is not there. The rear spoiler on the Z51 is larger and all the way across the back although this spoiler option is available on the base coupe. the Z51 has larger wheels with a different pattern and the only available with black wheels.. The rear fender air ducts are functional (which I think may be also on base with automatic transmission) but that would be difficult to tell without standing right over them. These vents are not present on either version of the convertible.

Not sure about markings. But if you're trying to identity a Z51 from the exterior, the rear spoiler is full length.
The spoiler is optional so that's not the best indication. As mentioned before the 3 items that are totally unique are the front air dam, wheels and brakes. Of those 3 the only externally identifiable option that can be counted on are the slotted brake rotors as they are the most likely not to be retrofitted.

I would add one thing: not all wheels (rims) on the package have to be black ; I have the Z51 package and ordered it with polished chrome wheel option.

In addition, Chevy has a dealer optional Z51 spec wheel that looks a lot like the base wheel that came on the Premier edition so although the wheels are the quickest indication they cannot be relied on.

not really I have a Z51 spoiler black wheels npp exhaust you really cant tell. I have also driven both Z51 AND A BASE 2lt and in a straight line its hard to tell.but when you start twisting the car around some corners and doing some hard braking and accelerating you can really tell. I guess that from what I read 60% 0f all vetts produced have been Z51s so a lot of guys just assume it is.If you get real close and check out the rotors and rear fender vents real corvette guys would be able to tell. Z51 OR NOT THESE CARS REALLY TURN HEADS.Cant wait til april when I can start driving mine again, the roads are still full of salt and sand from all the snow weve had here in Massachusetts. good luck all stay safe.

The only difference in apearence that can't be put on as an option is in the front. The air dam in the front goes all the way accross the front on a non-Z51. The Z51 only has the two short air dams. One of the engineers I spoke with told me that the center section didn't enhance the performance on the Z51 so the left it off.

I am not sure if you meant to say "they only". If that is the case, that is not a true statement. They have other wheel color available. My order is a Z51 with silver painted wheel.
