GM has offered a price protection of C$1430 for 2014 Z51 orders and C$2237 for non-Z51 Coupe orders.

C$2133 for non-Z51 convertible and C$1322 for Z51 convertible.

It looks like customers who ordered the Z51 are penalized for ordering that option.

My dealer had an invoice for me today of MSRP C$74,530. For the configuration that I had ordered (Laguna Blue with Kalahari/ 2LT Z51/ NPP/ Mag.ride/Auto trans/red calipers/battery protection, the price differential for 2014 MY and 2015MY was approx.C$5485. Now after a year's wait, I am rewarded with a rebate of C$1430, so I am still out of pocket about C$4000. LOL
My personal feelings, very happy to know that the car has been shipped and also it has an A8 but mixed feelings on the extra C$4000 plus 12% in taxes.

Just wondering what kind of price protection GM offered USA buyers ?

What do you mean exactly?
It simply means that if you had ordered in 2014 before all the price increases,a Z51 spec car will be given a rebate of around $1400 from the current 2015 Cdn price. If you want clarity, contact your dealer and he will be able to explain it to you in much more detail.
