For those of you stuck at 1100:

Kurbeck Corvette is currently offering $2,500 off MSRP on most models which paid for my shipping fees.

I placed a pre-order 6 weeks ago with my local dealer not knowing what I do now thanks to this forum which has helped educate me on how the allocations system works (as stupid as it is). Turns out I was finally able to get my dealer to admit that my car would not be delivered for "~7 months" due to limited dealer allocations. Another forum member suggested looking into a big lot dealer who have inventory on their lots and having it shipped. Duh!! Not sure why this didn't occur to me but wanted to let folks know that Kurbeck is offering a discount which completely paid for my shipping from the east coat to the west coat.

Thanks for the insight folks and i'm thrilled to say my Stringray on my front door in 2 weeks!

Yeah, I perused Kerbeck's stock online just the other day. I always like to have a contingency plan. I'm confident my order will come in just as my salesman has predicted which is perfect for my redeployment schedule (early March) but I saw that Kerbeck had one EXACTLY like the one I have ordered except it doesn't have the red calipers. SO.....it's good to know that I have an option (I'm sure there will be more similar ones in their stock in early March) should something terribly wrong happen with Plan A. And Kerbeck's offering $500 more off than my salesman - I consider that a wash since they're much further away than my current dealership. ;-) An early congrats to you, gregb!!!

Same situation with me waiting with pre-order since mid-Nov. Finally, last week I began serious net surfing and came across 3 C7s at three different dealers that matched my specs. Contacted all three, two were no longer available and struck gold with the third. Dealer is in Frisco TX, sales rep very responsive and professional. Botttom line, closed the deal three days later and the C7 was picked up by Intercity Lines yesterday and on its way to Miami. Vert with all options except dual stripe which I had on pre=order, oh well I can add later. I am stoked and should be here by Wednesday. Land vehicle Vehicle Car Automotive design Sports car
